Awareness comes first. Awareness comes first because transformation and evolution begin with a shift in perspective. It’s so interesting how incredibly powerful you really are, and how you probably aren’t aware of it. Most people aren’t.

So if you are like most people (everyone basically), as you grew up you developed an understanding about how reality works from your environment. This includes of course your parents or caregivers, your home, your siblings, your school, your community and so on. Coming in fresh from spirit, you were welcomed into the world ordinary reality. And you were an enormous sponge, taking it all in at such an incredible rate that you became literate in the language and culture of your environment within just a year. Incredible really—you are so smart and so powerful.

And you developed an understanding about who you are as a member of the family you grew up in, your community and your culture. Certain things became very apparent because your people focused on them. Other things faded into the background, so much so that you stopped noticing that they were there at all. And what you noticed, what was available to your point of view, or your perspective, was shaped by what the people around you told you was important, valuable—and even real. Do you ever remember seeing something, feeling something, getting excited about something, and then your parent (or other authoritative adult) saying: “oh, that’s not real honey”?

And from that came your reality. Literally. Not just your perception of reality, but literally your reality. What you focus on expands, and law of attraction lines you up with what you focus on (consciously or unconsciously), and bingo: your experience becomes your reality.

The good news is that your Spirit, your Soul Self, is bigger than all that and can’t simply be defined by the acculturation and conditioning process. That bigger, more expansive part of you always has a broader, longer, more comprehensive and compassionate view of, well, of all of it. You are fortunate that way. Because in fact you are more powerful than you realize.

So awareness comes from tapping into the Spirit part, that Soul aspect. You take a big breath, step a little backward out of the story and sense of reality you’ve been living inside of, and a new perspective appears.

Sometimes it starts when you are talking with someone and she shares how with you how experienced a conversation or an experience you two had. And you realize—wow, her perception of that was totally different than mine. I mean, totally. Her reality and my reality were not the same. (Western science doesn’t like that idea, so if you are skeptical here, it may be coming from your congruence with that belief system.)

Sometimes it starts when you go to learn from someone who has achieved goals that you also want to achieve and you haven’t been able to do it. But at first you listen to what he says, and it makes no sense. Like David Neagle saying that Bob Proctor, his mentor, used to say to him that it’s easier to make $50,000 a month than it is to make $50,000 a year, and David thought he was joking. He could not believe it for a long time because it made no sense.

And then maybe you realize—this happened to me—that you have thoughts inside your head that say things like: “that’s for other people”; “people with money aren’t to be trusted”; “it’s better to not have money but be politically correct/smart/respected.” Ugh.

And then the awareness sets in. The limitations on your thinking. The stories you’ve been living inside. The realization that you’ve been denying yourself experiences you desire, or things that you want, or even the food and living situation that will support your health, well-being and aliveness. Denying yourself because you’ve believed: that’s just the way things are. That’s just how it is for my people. It’s better this way because I’m more spiritual, or more sustainable, or more politically correct—more something.

And realizing that—when the light of awareness shines on the box you’ve made for yourself and that you’ve been living inside—it can be pretty yucky. It can be uncomfortable. You can feel angry, resentful, confused, disappointed: why have I been living this way all these years?! If only I had know before, my life would have been different!!

B R E A T H E. Breathe because the benefits of awareness far outweigh what can be the temporary discomforts of awareness. Sometimes people pull back from awareness and try to re-enter their story because it felt better (ignorance is bliss, right?). I hope for you that it’s too late if you try, because I’ll say it again: the benefits far outweigh the discomfort.

Because the more awareness you develop—and as far as I can tell it’s an ongoing thing—the more connected you are to that Soul aspect, that bigger, broader part of you who can REALLY see. And when you do—oh and when you do—you would be amazed at what becomes visible. Reality is just not what you were taught it is.

You are so powerful—reality is what you believe it is.

So can you tolerate the discomfort of awareness? Can you tolerate it to the point where you can forgive yourself and everyone else for all the limitations (coercions, manipulations, confusions. . .) you experienced—and then keep expanding?

Free yourself. Do you know how powerful you really are?

Posted on the wall at my favorite acupuncturist’s office is a little sign that says:

There is one cause of disease: stagnation.
There is one solution: circulation.

Indeed, this is a law of the universe. Health, vitality, aliveness, abundance, joy, excitement, connection, appreciation, and so on are all signs of circulation. Energy is moving. Give and take are happening. There is flow. Everything in nature depends on movement, flow and circulation. Even inside of trees sap is running. And quantum physics is showing that even what you think of as solid matter is in fact moving (and mostly empty space—isn’t that a trip?).

It’s so interesting that when you feel like you don’t have enough, what do you tend to do? You tend to contract, pull in, conserve? If you lose money you thought you could count on, you cut back on your expenses. If clients leave, you cut back on your support. If you lose your job, you stop going out to dinner, maybe cut back on your food altogether.

On the one hand it makes sense—less money coming in, you want less money going out, right? Otherwise you will really be in a pickle. Perhaps temporarily. So you can stabilize yourself. Determine what you’ve got, what you need, and make plans.

But if you stay in that contracted state, stagnation sets in. Circulation has been cut off. Flow slows down and then stops. And over time this becomes your expectation and then your experience of life: not enoughness, scarcity, lack. And if it goes on for long enough it does create illness in the body. Unfortunately, it’s an epidemic.

The solution: a splurge! Something fun, pointless, even outrageous. Something just because you want to do it. Just because you want to have it. So often when you are contracted you long for something else, but you don’t allow yourself to have it. Because you think you don’t have the money. You don’t have the resources. It would be irresponsible to spend money on something “frivolous” (i.e. something other than what you need to survive). But then notice that your standard for living becomes what you need to survive—and that’s just the level at which you operate: survival.

Why a splurge and not a stretch? Well, for those who are in a contracted state, a splurge is a stretch! And yes stretching will help open the flow again. Yet a splurge has a special quality. A splurge is fun. It should make you smile, even giggle. It’s like: oooooo, I wanted that and now I get to have it????? Te he, te he!! Stretching often is not that pleasurable.

I was sitting in the waves in Kauai a few days mulling over this. At the end of May my husband and I were at my Mastermind retreat in San Diego. The conversation kept coming back to splurges. Everyone had been working really hard. Progress was being made, yet there was a sense of heaviness, of doggedness that had come over many of us. And Suzanne was directing us to splurge. I turned to my husband and said, “we are going to Kauai.” The last time we had gone was nine years ago when I was pregnant with our daughter. We had wanted to go back several times since then, but had never decided to do so. We’d gone on other vacations, but not that one—it seemed like too big a splurge.

And it was crazy there in San Diego. Geej had lost his major client six weeks before, I had started a whole new arm of my business, and everything was quite uncertain. But I knew this was the moment to really live the principles that I believe in, and know that when I made the decision that the resources would show up.

And this month, even with being gone on vacation for ten days, I had my best month ever. And next month my business and my income will grow even more. And Geej’s business is also growing in many different ways that we didn’t expect and couldn’t have anticipated back at the end of May. I am not saying this to impress you, but to demonstrate the power of a splurge.

Because committing to do something I have had in my consciousness (Abraham would say in my Vortex) for years now opened up the flow of abundance. I know it sounds wonky from a logical point of view, but it makes total sense energetically.

So what you can splurge on? It doesn’t have to be a trip like that. It could be buying yourself flowers every week. It could be going out to a restaurant you’ve always wanted to go to. It could be taking the afternoon off from your business and going canoeing or riding on a ferris wheel or a pony. It could be taking a painting class, or baking (and eating) an outrageous cake, or buying an apple tree for your yard. It doesn’t have to start out big and expensive (although that can be very exciting)—it just has to be something you’ve been wanting and denying yourself. And enjoy! Open to flow. Open to trust. Open to life-force energy. Open to Spirit. And watch what happens next.

I want to share with you some brilliant brainstorming from my own coach, Suzanne Evans. This is a follow up to my last article,“Overcoming Objections about Money,” on where to find those pots of gold I was talking about. And if you now see where one or two are for you, and you want to move forward working with me, let me know. I am ready to serve. Now here’s Suzanne:

The Mone^y is Already Here!

I know the biggest objection I hear from people working with me is,“I would love to, but I don’t have the money”. AND I know it is the biggest struggle you have when landing clients, as well. Out of all the objections for people to get the help, support, coaching, or healing they need, money is the biggest. I have spent years working on this and finding ways to coach people into reality. The reality is two things:

1) We always have the money to do the things we REALLY want to do.

2) You always get exactly what you need when you need it. If you believe Universal Truths of Abundance you will know the money is always there. Now, I do know some people do not know where to look for the money and that is where I have put in a lot of time energy and research. I thought it would be very helpful to share this with you for two reasons:

First, you might be telling yourself you can’t get the support you need because YOU don’t have the money. Maybe this will help. Secondly, it will help you in speaking to clients who say they don’t have the money.

So, here we go - 10 ways to get the money you need every time!

1) Business Loan. There are many small lending institutions (especially locally owned banks) that want to help finance small business as the entrepreneur is doing well in this economy.

2) “Business Loan.” This is what I call a job or part time job. I think if you TRULY believe in your dream then you must do whatever necessary to realize that dream. A stream of income will help you go from NEEDING clients to wanting clients. And do not look at it as a job - it is a business loan to fuel your start up.

3) 401ks and other investments. Your accountant will probably tell you this is a horrible idea, but I am very grateful I used some of mine as seed money. That money grew into a 7-figure business. I had actually lost quite a bit of it with the craziness in the market and so I became very aware the best investment I could make was an investment in ME. There are even ways to roll the funds into your business with NO penalties.

4) Low interest credit cards. We have a really messed up view of credit in this country. Debt has been made to seem evil (I could go on for days about this), but good debt is a very useful tool. Good debt is debt you incur to finance a project or dream and you have a plan to pay it back. You are using it to learn, grow, and develop to bring in revenue from your business. No one really blinks at student loan debt, but we all get nuts when we, say, put a program or mentor on a credit card. What’s the difference? There isn’t - at all! One has just been conditioned by society to be okay.

5) Got junk? I have had students (actually right now) finance their dreams by selling gold an ex-husband gave them, putting cool stuff on ebay, or selling a car they no longer wanted or needed. My friend and mentor, David Neagle, first financed his dream by selling a boat. I spent a year selling yard sale finds on ebay to pay for a vacation AND my coaches. See how creative you can get?

6) Start NOW! Many of you are waiting to have everything perfect or in place to get clients and make money. I guarantee you know enough now to start working with people. Maybe you will have an introductory rate or special for the first 5 clients you work with, but there is no need to wait. You can start making money now!

7) Friends and Family. Many times friends and family are happy to help and will charge you a much lower interest or no interest. Richard Branson has made this very easy with www.virginmoney.com He has created a program that helps friends and family create loans and have tracking, accountability, and make them professional and organized. He calls them social loans.

Make a change. Look at your full budget and spending - I have never seen one person or family that didn’t have something they could tweak to find money for their business. Is there a tweak that could be made to your daily spending? Hobby spending? Where is there waste in your weekly budget? It can be amazing how easy it is to find $100 or more a week with small changes.

9) Apply for a home equity line of credit. Some banks offer home equity lines of credit that let you borrow up to as much as 85% of the appraised value of your home. Depending on the value of your home and what you still owe in other mortgages, that can put a significant chunk of money at your disposal for starting your business. The downside: you’re putting your home at risk. This is not an option for everyone, but it is a great option for some. Always understand your risk and all the details.

10) Make the decision. You or your clients do not need the money for coaching /mentoring/support until they make the decision to get support and play a bigger game. Anything is possible when you make a decision. Many people think they have made a decision, but here are the facts. A decision is ONLY when there are no other options. There is no failure or stopping buckets to put your balls in. You do whatever it takes. And you will get the support you need to make it happen.

The universe is waiting to fund your dream! The mone^y is already here!

“If this time-space reality has the wherewithal to create a desire in you for something, this time-space reality has the wherewithal to deliver it to you. But you have to become the person who has it in order for it to show up in your reality. Or otherwise you never will.” ~ Abraham translated by Esther Hicks

I have heard people get irritated at the law of attraction and say: “I have wanted and focused on this thing that I want for so long, and it’s not here. See, I’m focusing on it, I desire and long for it, but it hasn’t manifested. See!—the law of attraction doesn’t work.”

I can see where the confusion comes in. Because you hear that phrase: you get what you focus on, right? And you think, what else do I have to do, for crying out loud! I have been focusing, wanting, putting all my energy into my longing. And I’m still broke. Or still my business hasn’t worked. Or I still don’t have clients. Or I still can’t seem to make ends meet. I still, I still, I still.

Now on one level the focus on the “I still don’t have it” is the point. Because it means you are more aware of and focused on the lack of something than on its presence. How the heck can I focus on its presence, you ask, if it’s not here? And this is a big factor because longing is more emotionally connected to lack than it is to presence. And you will manifest what you are more emotionally connected to—the lack or the presence of something, something wanted or unwanted. In this case the trick, so to speak, is to be able to imagine that you already have or are experiencing what you desire—and then get emotionally connected to that.

But today I want to focus your attention on another aspect of all of this, one that I hope will inspire and soothe you.

And that aspect is the becoming. The becoming within you. The transformation within you that takes place when experience and then knowing replace desire and longing.

It’s interesting because it is possible to actually experience and “have” that which you’ve wanted—like when you receive a large sum of money from winning the lottery, an investment skyrocketing, or from an inheritance—and then lose it within a short period of time. You get what you wanted but because you don’t become the person who actually believes and is emotionally connected to having it, you lose it. You squander it, you loan it to someone who doesn’t pay you back, or you make a poor investment.

I remember a potential client sharing with me that his greatest fear was of losing all of his money. He longed to be someone with financial security. He had a made a chunk of money, then made a poor investment, and was now afraid of losing the rest. He had not yet become the person who knew he could make money whenever he wanted to. Even though he made a significant amount at one time, he did not fundamentally experience himself as a person who either had money or knew how to make it. He didn’t know how to look for opportunity or to recognize it when it came to him. And he didn’t trust that opportunity and prosperity were natural to life and within his grasp.

Can you lean into the universal law that anything you are capable of wanting is available to you now? Can you get excited by that principle and begin to imagine yourself as the person who can see the path to manifesting it? And then can you begin to know yourself as the one who experiences it now? Already? Not in some future moment, but now? How does it feel in your body? What emotions do you experience? How does your experience of life change? Can you b r e a t h e into a bigger, more abundant and confident you?

Focus on you, not on what you want. Focus on you becoming, transforming, morphing into the person experiencing the life that have only longed for up until now. What changes will you have to make in how you think about yourself? In how you think about others?

Your time-space reality has the wherewithal to deliver anything to you that you can imagine. Who are you being experiencing it?

Stretching is part of the creative process. And being an entrepreneur is nothing if it’s not creative. Stretching can be uncomfortable at times. It’s also something you get used to, and then desire, even crave. Ask anyone who practices yoga.

Stretching in your business shows up in many places and in many ways. Where are you stretching, thinking about doing so, or resisting it? How far are you willing to stretch?

Are you calling people and expanding the people of community of people who know you, know what you do, and are interested in what you do? Are you learning something new, like using Facebook or new software, that helps you expand your reach? Are you hiring someone to help you so you can focus more on what only you can do? Are you working with a coach who has done what you want to do, and who is helping you see the fruitful places to stretch?

Struggle so often comes from isolation and trying to do things on your own. It’s ironic that in school you were probably taught the basis of that. Do you own work. Don’t ask others for help. Don’t cheat. And you learned: you should be able to do this on your own. So being a good student, you isolated yourself and your work alone. But that will kill you as an entrepreneur because building connections and giving and receiving support with others are the lifeblood of a serving profession.

Stretching expands. It’s in the flow of the universe. You are stretching into new territory, exploring new terrain. That’s why it’s creative. Something new is being born. Struggle contracts and confines. It binds your life-force energy and keeps you stuck in what you already know. Nothing new is happening. And before long stagnation sets in.

So when you begin to struggle—B R E A T H E—and start to stretch instead.

Stretch to talk with new people.
Stretch to talk with the people you already know.
Stretch to invest in your business and yourself to a level that is uncomfortable.
Stretch to create something that you are not sure is going “to work.”
Stretch to learn new skills that will support making a bigger impact.
Stretch to connect with others—colleagues, coaches, comrades—who will inspire you and pull you along through their vision and energy.

Stretch to become the person who experiences your dreams.

No longer struggle with your message.
No longer struggle about your worthiness.
No longer struggle with money.
No longer struggle with your past, your parents, your lover, your children.

No longer struggle with yourself.

Stretch instead. Allow the old beliefs, conditioning, and perceptions to drop away. Stretch to open the energy. Stretch into the pulse of evolution coursing through our planet, our solar system, and your very life. Stretch to feel the light of your Soul that burns in the core of your being. Stretch and the fear will melt.

B R E A T H E ~ S T R E T C H ~ B R E A T H E.

S T R E T C H.

Really. Everything you need to become a successful entrepreneur you knew BEFORE you went to kindergarten.

Before you went to kindergarten you got fully excited about things. You felt the passion of pursuit of what you wanted. You felt the longing and then you went for it. You believed you would get it. You were persistent until your parents gave you a time-out. And even then you didn’t want to give up.

You played full out. You ran until you dropped. You fell down, got up and did it again. You were endlessly creative. You could make something fascinating out of nothing. You dreamed, and you believed your dream.

You sold other people on what was important to you. You didn’t care what other people thought.

You cared. You loved. You wanted to play with others and saw no reason why you shouldn’t. And even when you fought with other kids, the mood passed so quickly because you knew that connection was really more important.

You knew that innovation and play were more significant than order. You enjoyed making a mess. You didn’t mind making mistakes. You didn’t even know that mistakes existed.

And then you went to school and everything changed. You learned to sit still, follow directions, learn what other people thought was important, and perform well or be disapproved of. And that school conditioning goes deep.

Even so, you still have all of that early wisdom within you. Because when you were young your Soul’s energy and delight in Being were in full force. And it’s still there, waiting inside of you. It’s just that now you only let that part of you out some of the time. When it feels safe. Yet it is actually the key to your freedom and your prosperity.

Because everything you need to become a successful entrepreneur you knew BEFORE you went to kindergarten. Just remember.

OMG ~ I’m over it with fear. I mean, yeah, okay we all feel it. And yeah, okay, there are physical manifestations of it. And yeah, okay, it’s been there for lifetimes. But enough already!

I say that as a person with a tremendous amount of respect for the history we are now emerging out of. In my former life as an academic, I wrote a book about resistance to slavery in the United States. I am well aware of the cruelty that we as human beings have perpetrated against each other. I also am aware that there are people on our planet—and in homes not so far away—that are living in violence. I get that. We are coming out of the most violent period of human history.

But how do we really come out of it? How do we end the cycle of violence? Some people would say by putting the perpetrators in jail. But I ask—have you never perpetrated violence? I know I have. And if not violence against others—I know NO ONE who has not perpetrated violence against self.

So. Where does that leave us?

Well, fear and violence go together. People use violence in order to instill fear. That’s been seen in cultures around the world for hundreds and thousands of years. And the ironic thing is when you live in fear you attract violence. Think about it for a moment. Fear is the expectation that something dangerous is going to happen. Physically, emotionally, socially, financially, familially, environmentally. Something dangerous is going to happen. And then guess what. It does.

From a metaphysical perspective, it happens because you expect it. That’s what you are emotionally involved in—the expectation of danger. And so it does.

But the thing is—and I see it over and over again with clients, students, colleagues—in my own mind—these are phantoms of fear. They are not real in present time. They are inheritances of the past. Or of other people’s lives. Thought forms, energy forms, circulating around that we download and imprint and run through our systems without even knowing it. If you look around at the room you are in—is there danger there? I mean as Bryon Katie says, can you be absolutely sure that it’s there? Probably not. But do you believe that there is? Then there is. And it’s time for that to end.

That is if you want to be free. Because honestly you can be entranced by your fear—and it gets so familiar that it becomes your comfort zone. It’s familiar, it’s routine, your parents had it, your neighbors had it, your partner has it. Your children don’t usually have it when they come in, but boy you teach them quickly that they should have it too. Because that “keeps them safe.”

But if you want to be free, you have to see that for what it is. A Terror Zone. Not a comfort zone. A Terror Zone. A zone of existence in which you’ve become a master at managing fear, but not resolving it. So it’s always there, under the surface, waiting to pop up.

It’s time to end the cycle of violence and the terror zone inside your mind. Because your decision to do so is all that it takes. Walk out of the terror zone. Feel the sunshine. Smell the flowers. See your loving partner. Take in what is actually all around you. You are safe. All is well. And the more you get emotionally involved in that, the truer it will be. Really.

This is such an interesting question—an interesting question and interesting reactions. I shared about this in my strategic marketing program this week, and also at the Soul Signature Marketing Meetup here in Sebastopol yesterday morning.

I think about all the people I know, and I don’t know what they do. I know what I know about them because that’s how I know them. Many people I dance with. Many people I know their families and our kids are friends. Other people I meet at social events or community events, and I know who they came with or how we’re connected through various social networks. Some people really don’t want to talk about their work because they have “a day job.” They do what they do, and they may even like it, but they aren’t that connected to it. Or they want to “leave it at work.” That’s an employee, not an entrepreneurial, mindset.

Because as an entrepreneur—and especially as a heart-centered entrepreneur who recognizes that their soul-inspired business is contributing to seeding the energy of the New World Age—it’s really your moral obligation to share what you do. That’s because you know that what you have to offer facilitates life transformation. You are in the business of bringing into being a new era of cooperation, compassion, vision, prosperity, and healing. You are here to lead the way into and hold the space for a new way of being. Now isn’t that something to get excited about? Isn’t that something you want to tell people about?

We had a beautiful woman at our gathering yesterday who is doing a local event in a few weeks, and I said to her: what an awesome opportunity to call everyone you know and tell them what you are doing. She cringed. Visibly, physically cringed. And she said, “oh that reminds me of an MLM.” And I smiled having been trained to market in a network marketing company—and frankly being turned off by the constant “prospecting” that some people do. But being passionate about what you’re offering doesn’t mean you lose all social skills—or at least it doesn’t have to. And I know when I was in network marketing I learned so much about being willing to talk to people, and being willing even to seem “foolish” at times. And because I was, I actually built a successful network marketing business while many other people around me didn’t.

And the truth is that we are conditioned not to be passionate, not to speak up, and not to want to facilitate transformation—and certainly not to talk with people about money. So when you do—you certainly stand out, and sometimes you do look “foolish” to certain people. Foolish or crass or even rude because what you are doing challenges their conditioning. And when you challenge someone’s conditioning, well, sometimes they react.

And did you know that most people are actually more afraid of looking foolish, than they are of being broke. Isn’t that interesting?

But let’s be real here. You have to be you in your marketing. Otherwise you’re being your idea of something or someone else and everyone can smell that a mile away, and everyone gets uncomfortable. But if you are genuinely passionate about what you’re doing—if you are connected to your business and believe that it can benefit people, why wouldn’t you want to tell people that? It’s all in how you do it.

That’s why I’ve created a talk for the More Life Turn called: “Step into Your Soul Signature: Crafting a Soul-Inspired Message that Sells.”

Because I know how important it is that the people you know know what you do. I know you have the capacity to change lives. You and your contribution matter. And there are people who are waiting to hear from you. This is the time of awakening, and there are people who will only hear the message from you—because you are you. And one of those people just might someone you know who—at this moment—doesn’t know what you do.

Sondra Ray once said: “Your phonebook is your ministry.”

So who are you going to tell next?

Inside of you there is a burning desire. Can you feel it? Are you connected to the fire that is yours ~ that has your face on it, if you will?

At the core of your Being your radiance comes through the portal of your heart, from the Soul Level into ordinary reality. Your own unique contribution unfolds in front of you as you step down life’s path ~ as you step more and more into your Soul Signature.

When you connect with that burning desire and bring it through into the world through the vehicle of a business, you no longer are “working” because you are doing what you love to do. You are in alignment. You have energy. You are excited. You know you are on the path, even when you don’t know exactly what to do.

Are you distracted, overworking, procrastinating, burned out, stuck or confused? These are signs that you are not on purpose, you are not living from that burning desire.

Let me say one thing about purpose. Purpose is not a thing that you find—a treasure buried in a chest somewhere that you have to find, dig up, and carry around with you. Purpose is more of a verb than a noun: it emerges, unfolds, and evolves as you move along the path of your life. Your evolving purpose provides a map to your inner landscape. Being “on purpose” means you are engaged in the process of life ~ and you are pursing that which makes you feel alive, your burning desire.

If you pursue a career or business because you believe you can make money doing it, but you are not connected with your passion, two things will happen. On is that you will not be drawing on the power of your Soul, but will be relying on your mental capacity. And as formidable as that is, it is miniscule in comparison with the vision, wisdom, energy, and power of your Soul, the larger, eternal part of you. Relying on your mental capacity, you will get burned out and become prey to fear because you are operating at far less than your actual potential. And as a result, you will not be as successful—financially otherwise—as you could be.

Your burning desire signals your connection with your purpose, your Soul’s longing for engagement with the earth plane, to create in material reality. So if you are feeling stuck, lackadaisical, tired, uncertain, go inside. B R E A T H E. Open to the wisdom and guidance that is inside of you. Because you already know. Inside you already have that burning desire. And when you allow it to come fully into your life and your business you open to the miraculous. You tap in to the true treasure ~ the treasure of you.

Being dependent is an aspect of the child archetype. You have a child archetype as do we all, and this archetype takes different aspects depending on your individual biography and your responses to life’s experiences. Today I want to focus on how this archetype can show up in your work life and your business.

The child archetype in its stressed state feels dependent, uncertain, overwhelmed, at times confused. The world seems big, perhaps dangerous, more than she or he can deal with. The child really wants someone else, or something else to take care of things, to be the parent/boss/guardian. I know I can get this way when I’m tired, moving into new territory, or trying to do too many things on my own. Things get blurry and resentful, and I just want someone or something else to be in charge. Perhaps you can relate?

The thing is that most of this is unconscious so you aren’t even aware it’s happening. I mean not aware in the sense of realizing that an archetypal pattern is activated and you are living in a story that’s larger than life, and that there’s a script here that begins to write you if you don’t become more aware.

And the child in its stressed state can seek out and become dependent on seemingly more powerful others in an attempt to become safe and protected. The tricky part is being connected with others, creating partnerships–whether in life or in business–is satisfying and rewarding. And being aware of when you are being dependent in your child or not is not always clear.

Last night my husband and I were reflecting on the number of things that have been lining up for us one after the other in the last 8 weeks. So much energy has been moving, so many opportunities have been appearing, and so much prosperity has been coming in. It’s really quite remarkable. I said to him, “I think it’s because we stopped being dependent on [his last major client].”

Even though we both knew we’d been dependent, this was still like a new revelation. Because certainly in my mind I hadn’t fully realized how much I was unconsciously relying on, dependent upon, his work with that client. In fact that inner dependency was like a container for my energy. And when our daughter was small, and I wanted to spend more time with her, that container was welcome because it supported our family life. But once she got to be bigger, and I was stretching out, that container held me back, only I didn’t fully realize it. I just knew I felt frustrated with trying to “get bigger” and feeling like I was hitting a wall.

Now there were many pieces that came together for me when that container disappeared over night. Pieces that had been longing to come together for a long time that I won’t go into here. Nonetheless, that dependency undermined my best ability to move forward–to “grow up” if you will, because it was keeping the child archetype within me activated. When that client left, the mother in me, as well as the grown woman, and the business woman, took over. And together these parts of myself moved forward into self expression and self actualization, rather than seeking someone or something to be dependent on. And it was the best thing that’s happened in a long time.

So what are you dependent on? What are you relying on as a seemingly safe container that is actually holding you back from fully growing up, fully expressing yourself? Is it a job? The chance of getting a certain kind of job or client? A relationship? A business or business partner? A way of thinking about yourself or your practice? What could you let go of that would free up your energy and challenge you to truly step forward into your life? Because you will be SO glad when you do. You’ll be amazed. Make sure to tell me about it, okay?
