Where do you go for guidance?

In this time of great transition and uncertainty, where do you go for support? What do you trust?  Who do you trust?  Can you rely on the wisdom of your parents? Or what you were taught in school? Or what you hear in the media, or from experts in economics, history, politics, and spirituality? With so much external stimuli coming at you all the time, you are probably experiencing information overload, yet you are starving for guidance.  You want guidance you can trust, information that inspires as much as it informs, and that you can use in your life every day.

You are living in unprecedented circumstances, here at the dawn of the 21st century, on the brink of 2012, y.  The lessons of the past may inform your understanding, but they cannot guide your future.  You have an awesome opportunity ~ the time is now ~ the support is all around you when you know how to find it and you open to receive it.

Turn within.  Seek your creativity. What do you long for?  Where does your imagination lead you when you allow it to wander?  If you were to make your life up any way that you want it, how would it be?  Play with the idea that you really are a powerful creator co-conspiring with the divine ~ if you had all the raw materials needed in your hands, what would you do with them?

This may feel challenging. You may not have been supported in expressing yourself, fostering your creativity—our schools teach the acquisition of external knowledge rather than inner sourcing.  You probably were rewarded for obedience, imitation, and conforming ~ and punished for resistance.  Neither of these options feeds the soul.

We are on the cusp of a new age—we are tasked with evolving out of the cycle of violence, as Marshall Rosenberg calls it, the coercive paradigm of controlled and controlling, victim and perpetrator, power over.  Your part is exceedingly important.  Your unique contribution, your energy signature, are a critical slice of the magnificent whole.

In fact our creativity is absolutely required for us to move forward, as individuals, as families, as communities, as humanity, as co-inhabitants of this beautiful planet.  Our creativity moves us out of survival into thriving.  It feeds the soul’s expression.  It feeds the expansion of the universe.
